International Applicants

CIS welcomes applications from suitably qualified international students. Please read the information below carefully to ensure you meet the requirements and are well prepared for your application.

Academic Qualifications and Documents

Applicants presenting qualifications obtained outside Ghana must obtain the required GTEC recognition/equivalency and submit their academic certificates and transcripts, a valid passport, applicable recognition documentation, certified translations where documents are not in an accepted language, passport-sized photographs and any additional documents requested by CIS.

English-Language Proficiency

Where required, applicants should provide an accepted English-language qualification such as IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 79, or another GTEC-recognised qualification.

Original Document Verification

Original academic and identification documents may be required for verification during registration.

Visa and Immigration

International applicants are responsible for obtaining and maintaining the visa, residence permit and other immigration documentation required to study in Ghana. CIS does not issue visas or guarantee visa approval. Where appropriate, CIS may provide institutional documentation relating to a student's confirmed admission. Applicants should contact the College for guidance on the documentation CIS can provide.

Travel Arrangements

International students are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and from Ghana, unless CIS confirms otherwise in writing under a specific scholarship or sponsorship arrangement. CIS does not guarantee airline tickets, airport transfers or other travel services.

Accommodation

CIS operates as a residential college, and all CIS students reside in College accommodation. International applicants should confirm their accommodation arrangements, applicable terms and charges with CIS before travelling. Accommodation arrangements should not be considered confirmed until the College provides written confirmation.

Before You Travel

Applicants should not make non-refundable travel arrangements solely on the basis of submitting an application. They should first receive their official admission offer and clarify the applicable immigration and accommodation requirements with CIS.
